Wilson's acting career began with the lead role in Bottle Rocket in 1994, which was co-written by his older brother Owen Wilson and director Wes Anderson. It was remade as a feature-length film in 1996. After moving to Hollywood with his two brothers, he was cast opposite Calista Flockhart in Telling Lies in America and made a cameo appearance in the film-within-the-film of Scream 2, both in 1997. Wilson filmed back-to-back romantic films in 1998, opposite Drew Barrymore, Best Men, about a group of friends who pull off a heist on their way to a wedding, and Home Fries, about two brothers interested in the same woman for different reasons. He played the doctor beau of a schoolteacher in Rushmore (also 1998), also directed by Anderson and co-written by brother Owen.

He starred opposite Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 comedy Legally Blonde, which was followed by Old School and The Royal Tenenbaums. Wilson also had a role on That '70s Show, as Michael Kelso's older brother Casey Kelso, appearing sporadically from 2002 through 2005.

In 2006, Wilson starred in Idiocracy, Mike Judge's first film since 1999's Office Space. He portrayed an ordinary serviceman chosen for a cryogenics project. He awakens after hundreds of years in an America which is significantly less intelligent. The film was initially dropped by Fox Studios, but re-distributed in 2006.

In early 2007 Wilson took a role opposite Kate Beckinsale in the thriller Vacancy. In July 2007, he worked on Henry Poole is Here in La Mirada, California. He starred in the film Tenure.

SHEPPERTON Studios is continuing to build Japanese-style buildings on an external film set, despite a decision on an application seeking permission for the work being deferred at a council planning meeting.

Executives at the studios have begun construction on the Backlot site, rumoured to be for Keanu Reeves' new movie 47 Ronin, even though the development has not yet been formally approved by councillors.

Richard Smith-Ainsley, ward councillor for Laleham and Shepperton Green, said: "The original recommendation before the committee was to refuse the application, and amongst other issues to serve an enforcement notice to require that a part of the site being used as an external film set must be reinstated to its previous conditions."

The planning application was recommended for refusal by Spelthorne councillors at a recent meeting, but it was deferred to be considered at a later date after a request by Shepperton Studios.

Cllr Smith-Ainsley said: "An important consideration for not accepting the studios' request to defer the application was that the archaeological works that they were mandated to carry out before any development had begun were not carried out.

"The county council archaeologist produced a late letter stating that he considered that any damage that would be done had already been done, so this reduced the significance of the main reason for not deferring the application.

"We expect the studios to resubmit their application soon and the planning committee will then determine it."

Andrew Smith, director of Shepperton Studios, said: "We have been working with the council and statutory consultees in relation to the technical matters, including archaeology, ecology, transport and flooding since the submission of the application for temporary use of the Shepperton Studios Backlot and an adjacent site to the north west, for the construction of film sets and workshops for a temporary period of seven months, to meet the needs of a specific film production.

Matt Damon: Disenchanted in Barack Obama
March 4th, 2011 10:41 AM by Hilton Hater Tags: Matt Damon, Barack Obama
With one word, Barack Obama lost the enthusiastic support of one in all his most famous supporters last night.

Requested by Piers Morgan if he is pleased with the way in which Obama has been operating the country,"Matt Damon simply replied: "No." He then elaborated:

"I really suppose he misinterpreted his mandate. I now not hope for audacity."

The Adjustment Bureau star cited education as one area during which he believes the President has failed.

"The concept that we're testing kids and we're tying academics salaries to how youngsters are acting on exams, that sort of mechanized thinking has nothing to do with higher order. We're training them, not teaching them."

David Beckham

David BeckhamDavid BeckhamDavid BeckhamDavid BeckhamDavid Beckham

It's been one story after another in his three-month absence, and the soccer star says his 'fitness is great' after coaching with English membership and is 'over the moon' about having one other baby.

The wandering Englishman showed up in Carson on Thursday morning, fortunately back within the sunshine but maybe not so happily again out of the limelight.

David Beckham has returned to America and the Galaxy.

You could possibly hardly have missed the fact that he is been away, what with the vaunted Beckham publicity machine churning out - one is tempted to say manufacturing - one story after another for the at all times voracious tabloids on both sides of the Atlantic.

Jim Morrison

Jim MorrisonJim MorrisonJim MorrisonJim Morrison
James Douglas Morrison was born in Melbourne, Florida, to future Admiral George Stephen Morrison and Clara Morrison. Morrison had a sister, Anne Robin, who was born in 1947 in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and a brother, Andrew Lee Morrison, who was born in 1948 in Los Altos, California. He was of Irish and Scottish descent. Morrison reportedly had an I.Q. of 149.
In 1947, Morrison, then four years old, allegedly witnessed a car accident in the desert, where a family of American Indians were injured and possibly killed. He referred to this incident in a spoken word performance on the song "Dawn's Highway" from the album An American Prayer, again in the songs "Peace Frog", "Ghost Song".
Morrison believed the incident to be the most formative event in his life, and made repeated references to it in the imagery in his songs, poems, and interviews. His family does not recall this incident happening in the way he told it. According to the Morrison biography No One Here Gets Out Alive, Morrison's family did drive past a car accident on an Indian reservation when he was a child, and he was very upset by it. The book The Doors, written by the remaining members of The Doors, explains how different Morrison's account of the incident was from the account of his father. This book quotes his father as saying, "We went by several Indians. It did make an impression on him [the young James]. He always thought about that crying Indian." This is contrasted sharply with Morrison's tale of "Indians scattered all over the highway, bleeding to death". In the same book, his sister is quoted as saying, "He enjoyed telling that story and exaggerating it. He said he saw a dead Indian by the side of the road, and I don't even know if that's true."
With his father in the United States Navy, Morrison's family moved often. He spent part of his childhood in San Diego, California. In 1958, Morrison attended Alameda High School in Alameda, California. He graduated from George Washington High School (now George Washington Middle School) in Alexandria, Virginia, in June 1961. His father was also stationed at Mayport Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida.
Morrison went to live with his paternal grandparents in Clearwater, Florida, where he attended classes at St. Petersburg Junior College. In 1962, he transferred to Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, where he appeared in a school recruitment film. While attending FSU, Morrison was arrested for a prank, following a home football game.
In January 1964, Morrison moved to Los Angeles, California, to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He attended Jack Hirschman's class on Antonin Artaud in the Comparative Literature program within the UCLA English Department. Artaud's brand of surrealist theatre had a profound impact on Morrison's dark poetic sensibility of cinematic theatricality.
Morrison completed his undergraduate degree at UCLA's film school and the Theater Arts department of the College of Fine Arts in 1965. He made two films while attending UCLA. First Love, the first of these films, made with Morrison's classmate and roommate Max Schwartz, was released to the public when it appeared in a documentary about the film Obscura. During these years, while living in Venice Beach, he became friends with writers at the Los Angeles Free Press. Morrison was an advocate of the underground newspaper until his death in 1971
